Job summary

Trina Solar 1 is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead BESS project execution across Europe. You will own technical scope, perform design validation, and plan integration with energy systems, coordinating with clients and suppliers.

You will drive FAT/SAT activities, oversee protection and control, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring compliance with standards and contractual obligations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within renewable energy sectors (PV, Wind, Microgrid, or BESS).
• In-depth technical knowledge of BESS components, PCS, and substation systems.
• Proven experience with on-site BESS integration, electrical system design, protection & control, and SAT procedures.
• Strong understanding of communication protocols such as RS485, CANBUS, Modbus TCP/RTU.
• Familiarity with international codes, standards, and regulations (UK, EU; Australia and USA are a plus).
• Knowledge of grid services and BESS applications such as FFR, DC, and other ancillary services.
• Willingness to travel across Europe and internationally up to 20–30% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical liaison between internal teams, clients, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Supervise the design process to ensure alignment with contractual obligations and technical specifications.
• Manage commissioning activities and ensure seamless integration of BESS components into the broader energy system.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive project documentation for client handover, including version-controlled technical records.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and support cross-functional collaboration across engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
