Job summary

DC People seeks an experienced Project Director to lead complex data centre projects across Germany with international responsibility and travel to project locations. You will oversee execution, safety, quality, client relationships and handover from preconstruction through commissioning.

Data Centre Project Director — Germany | International Scope

About the Role

DC People is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of complex data centre projects. The role is based in Germany, with candidates considered across the country, and carries international responsibility. You must be comfortable managing projects outside Germany on a full-time basis, including extended assignments at project locations as required.

You will take overall responsibility for project execution, commercial performance, safety, quality and client relationships, from preconstruction and design coordination through construction, commissioning and handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams and delivery partners across data centre projects and international locations.
• Own project programmes, budgets, resource plans, risk management and delivery milestones.
• Coordinate design, procurement, construction, MEP installation, commissioning and operational handover.
• Manage client relationships and report clearly on progress, forecasts, risks and decisions.
• Oversee contracts, variations, cost control and commercial outcomes with the project commercial team.
• Establish high standards of health and safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Resolve delivery issues and align consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Build and develop project leadership teams across locations.

Experience and Qualifications

• Experience in critical infrastructure or other mission-critical environments.
• Strong understanding of multidisciplinary construction delivery, MEP systems, commissioning and handover.
• Demonstrated responsibility for significant project budgets and commercial performance.
• Strong client management, negotiation, team leadership and stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to lead international teams and manage projects outside Germany on a full-time basis.
• Relevant engineering, construction management or equivalent professional experience.

Germany — nationwide candidate search. Full-time role with international project assignments and travel according to project requirements. This is a project delivery role requiring presence at the relevant project locations.
