Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company is seeking a Project Development Manager to drive land-led renewable projects in Germany from identification through permitting and approvals. Based in Frankfurt or northern Germany with hybrid work, you will coordinate landowners, municipalities and consultants to secure development rights and manage risk and milestones.

You will need 4+ years in utility-scale solar PV project development and at least 2 years with BESS in Germany, plus fluent German and English.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience in utility-scale solar PV project development.
• At least 2 years’ hands-on experience with BESS projects in Germany.
• Proven track record of navigating German permitting processes and securing final approvals.

I’m working with an international renewable energy developer expanding its presence in the German market, with a focus on utility-scale solar PV, battery energy storage (BESS) and hybrid projects.

They’re looking for a Project Development Manager to take ownership of projects from early-stage opportunity identification through to permitting and final approvals.

What you’ll be doing:

• Identify and assess land opportunities and development projects across Germany.
• Lead negotiations with landowners, municipalities and key stakeholders to secure development rights.
• Manage permitting processes, including land-use planning and securing the necessary approvals.
• Coordinate environmental, planning and technical consultants, alongside due diligence and feasibility assessments.
• Oversee project budgets, manage development risks and drive projects towards key milestones.

What they’re looking for:

• 4+ years’ experience in utility-scale solar PV project development.
• At least 2 years’ hands-on experience with BESS projects in Germany.

• Strong knowledge of German planning regulations, land-use procedures and stakeholder negotiations.
• Fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
