Project & Business Development Manager
Our client, a fast-growing consulting start-up, has quickly built a reputation for its innovative, co-creative approach with international pharmaceutical and biotech clients. In just three years, they’ve exceeded growth expectations and are now expanding their team to strengthen both client delivery, and internal development.
About the Role
As Project & Business Development Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring projects run smoothly, client workshops are designed and delivered with excellence, and the company’s own processes and business development efforts become more structured and scalable.
This is not a typical consulting role. You’ll work directly with the founders, taking ownership of key initiatives that range from client-facing projects to shaping the internal backbone of a scaling organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end client projects: structure timelines, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery
- Design and prepare client workshops: from defining objectives to building agendas, creating materials, and supporting facilitation
- Conduct analysis and research to support project insights, proposals, and client presentations
- Develop and streamline internal processes, particularly around business development and organisational efficiency
- Support the preparation of proposals and pricing, ensuring clarity, consistency, and quality
- Contribute to business development: from organising and prioritising leads to preparing pitches, conducting company research, and supporting or even leading client meetings depending on your experience
- Work closely with senior clients, providing polished outputs and thoughtful engagement
Essential Experience
- Strong project management skills with a proven ability to deliver independently
- Excellent presentation-building skills in PowerPoint, with the ability to simplify complex topics into clear storylines
- Experience in consulting, professional services, or a similar client-facing environment
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industries (consulting or pharma/biotech)
- Strong analytical ability and structured problem-solving approach
- Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable working autonomously with limited direction
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)
Even Better If You Have
- Exposure to business development (e.g. preparing pitches, structuring BD processes, or bringing in projects)
- Familiarity with digitalisation and AI tools, or experience implementing new business systems in small companies
- Additional European languages
