ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE SENIOR MANAGER (W / M / X)

ROLE

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) offers the position of a full-time Accounting and Finance Senior Manager (f / m / x) in an international and multicultural team at the IPC Headquarters in Bonn, Germany, starting in early 2025.

The IPC, a purpose-driven non-profit association, is the global governing body of the Paralympic Movement. We oversee the delivery of the Paralympic Games and Paralympic Winter Games and serve as International Federation for five Para sports. Since 1989, we have been creating change through sport with the Paralympic Games and Paralympic athletes at our core.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, ensuring financial data accuracy and overseeing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
  2. Preparing financial statements and internal reports and supporting the creation of annual financial reports while coordinating with external auditors.
  3. Managing monthly VAT tax reporting and assisting in preparing annual VAT and corporate tax returns with external tax advisors.
  4. Collaborating with departments to identify tax advisory needs and coordinating with advisors for specialised support.
  5. Collaborating across departments to provide financial expertise and support budget planning.
  6. Assisting the Finance Director in liaising with the Audit, Risk, and Finance Committee.
  7. Ensuring adherence to internal controls, finance policies, and German accounting standards (HGB, GoBD).
  8. Leading internal and external audits under the supervision of the Finance Director.

CORE REQUIREMENTS

  1. University degree in accounting or equivalent vocational training, e.g. Bachelor Professional of Accounting (CCI) with at least 5 years of experience in an accounting role.
  2. Working knowledge of European tax laws and German Accounting Standards.
  3. Good interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on accuracy, integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.
  4. A team-player outlook with the ability to work independently but within a structured finance team.
  5. An interest in professional development and a willingness to learn.
  6. An ability to work in sometimes pressured conditions and to prioritize tasks appropriately and adapt to situational demands.
  7. Sound judgment and diplomacy.
  8. Advanced knowledge of German (from B2).
  9. Fluency in English (verbal and written).
