What You Will Do
- Responsible for realizing the Hardware of a large and complex Automotive Cockpit Project.
- As a Hardware Project Lead you will manage the project and lead the cross-functional team consisting of electrical and mechanical engineering, validation, certification, procurement and quality teams.
- You will be responsible for meeting project objectives that involve hardware developing plans, implementing strategies, executing the project to completion, and accomplishing hardware deliverables.
- In our cross-functional organization, you will be the primary contact for hardware and mechanical project deliverables and continuously report the status with key stakeholders.
- Lead the Hardware Team, manage the topics in the Hardware Team and keep lead-PM and Program Steering Team informed about issues, achievements, and others.
- Reporting Hardware status towards OEM customer and internally to sales and engineering leaders (up to SVP level).
- Based on your broad experience, you will prepare and propose appropriate measures to mitigate project risks.
- The Hardware PL is responsible to manage the BOM cost according to the business case.
- Identify and evaluate additional cost optimization during the development phase, provide planning and present to Program Steering Team, sales and engineering leadership team.
- Align technical and commercial program targets with functional departments.
- Manage cross-functional dependencies, risks, and changes effectively by optimizing the scope, schedule, and resources accordingly.
- Support during RFI/RFQ-phase to achieve the best-cost concept, meeting the customer requirements. Align with sales organization the communication strategy to customer and show the customer add-value items and HARMAN USP.
- Project execution according to HARMAN Project Life Cycle Management Processes.
What You Need
- Track record as a successful team lead in Hardware, Mechanics, or similar domain for not less than 8 years.
- Alternatively, experience as a lead program manager for complex systems of not less than 8 years.
- Technical and methodical knowledge in several areas of Hardware design and Project lead, alternatively in Program and Product Life Cycle Management.
- University degree in engineering (electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or appropriate graduation).
- Broad intercultural experience.
- Focus on cost and technology, always customer expectation in mind.
- Fluent technical and commercial English skills.
- Willingness to travel.
