Job Description:

At Amazon Community Moderation team, we are always exploring new opportunities to shape our global business.

Community Moderation is responsible for building customer trust to help shoppers make informed shopping decisions through Amazon’s Social/Community features, including Customer Reviews, Questions and Answers, and Customer Profiles, as well as new teams such as Inspire and Shop by Interest. By driving customer trust in user-generated content, we increase long-term customer engagement on Amazon. Upholding customer trust is challenging and impactful for Amazon.

As a Program Manager in our team, you’ll be an essential part of innovating and transforming our processes. You’ll lead the design and launch of new programs for our customers, oversee existing programs, and seek improvements. You will leverage your technical and program management skills to lead medium to large projects, working closely with Operations, Engineering, Science, and Business Teams. This is an opportunity to impact exciting new ideas shaping Amazon’s future.

The role requires customer focus, creativity, a data-first approach, and experience with performance at scale. You will make a difference in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where your ability to analyze, communicate, collaborate, and implement changes is vital. You will play a key role in ensuring a great customer experience, improving trust in user-generated content features, with an emphasis on automation for scalable, robust solutions.

Key job responsibilities

  • Serve as a point of contact between Operations and Moderation teams for system improvements.
  • Collaborate with communities and content owner teams to create and update guidelines based on new projects and quality standards.
  • Work with client teams to gather forecasts, analyze anomalies, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Gather and prioritize business cases from communities to enhance manual and automated moderation.
  • Coordinate with Product Managers to prioritize initiatives and feature requests.
  • Monitor moderation performance metrics and conduct root cause analysis using data sources like QuickSights, Hubble, and Heartbeat.

A day in the life

As a Program Manager, you will build collaborative relationships across the company and with external customers to manage workflows and drive improvements. This includes working with product managers and stakeholders to ensure content adheres to guidelines, and managing operational processes to safeguard trust. You will define policies and procedures, and partner with Communities to ensure content compliance.
