You will represent the field of "AI and Multimedia in Art Practice" in research and teaching, further developing it with international visibility, ideally within the context of contemporary aesthetic and socio-political discourses. You will participate in research networks and collaborations within and outside TU Dortmund University, preferably with the Lamarr Institute for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. Promoting early career researchers is also part of your responsibilities.
In teaching, you are responsible for your subject and participate appropriately in the department's teaching activities, especially in teacher training.
You are proven in the field of "AI and Multimedia in Art Practice" through outstanding artistic achievements, particularly through independent artistic research and practice at a national and international level. You demonstrate at least five years of creative activity, including three years outside academia. The university is especially interested in applicants with a broad aesthetic and artistic approach in multimedia, engaging with sound, music, auditory media, musical structures, and visually focused formats, and combining these innovatively with artificial intelligence techniques.
Several years of presence in the professional community through cooperation and publications with internationally active public institutions such as art academies, museums, art associations, public exhibition centers, concert halls, or renowned private galleries or collector museums are required.
You should have the potential for teaching excellence and consulting expertise in the contemporary field of AI, arts, and multimedia. Willingness to teach in German in the medium term, social and leadership skills, and participation in academic self-administration are also expected.
