The School of Medicine and Health Sciences (Department of Medical Physics and Acoustics) is seeking applications for a
Professorship in Medical Physics with focus on Technical and Experimental Audiology, salary scale W3, (m / f / x)
commencing as soon as possible.
Medical Physics with a focus on technical and experimental audiology is a long-standing research area at the University of Oldenburg, for example within the Cluster of Excellence Hearing4all and the Collaborative Research Centre Hearing Acoustics. The aim of the professorship to be filled is to establish audiology as an exact science by means of basic research in the natural and engineering sciences in the field of hearing.
The successful candidate is expected to take a leading role in the ongoing and future development of the research focus on hearing research at the University of Oldenburg. An active contribution to the Cluster of Excellence Hearing4all, the Collaborative Research Centre Hearing Acoustics, and other structured programmes within the Excellence Centre for Hearing Research is expected. In addition, the strategic cooperation between the University of Oldenburg and Hörzentrum Oldenburg gGmbH is to be further strengthened. A close cooperation within the framework of the existing research areas and interdisciplinary research networks as well as with the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (NL) is expected.

In addition, the successful candidate is expected to contribute to the core lecture programme of the Department of Medical Physics and Acoustics with an emphasis on physics, physics-technology-medicine (PTM), engineering physics, and acoustics. Links to medicine and neuroscience are desirable. Courses are to be offered in German and English, whereby the required language skills are to be acquired within a reasonable period of time.
Prerequisites for employment are specified in section 25 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NHG).
