We seek a civil engineer with notable achievements in research and teaching, particularly in water management, urban rainwater, and wastewater treatment, as well as innovative water use concepts in urban areas. Experience in urban infrastructure projects, securing third-party funding, and research leadership is essential.
The professorship will focus on drainage, treatment, storage, and resource use of urban rainwater and wastewater, contributing to climate change resilience. The role involves advancing research and teaching in these areas, with opportunities for joint projects with the Interdisciplinary Centre for Atmosphere and Environment and the Wuppertal Institute.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses on water management in civil engineering programs, in German, in accordance with language requirements.
Applicants must demonstrate pedagogical aptitude and scientific excellence, evidenced by a doctorate and additional scientific achievements. Experience in junior professorships, habilitations, research roles, or relevant professional positions is required. Commitment to academic self-governance and contributions to gender equality are expected.
