Qualifikationen

Your duties include
    • As the future holder of this position, you will deliver lectures in both German and English in the subject area of Plastics Engineering / Polymer Technology at the Faculty of Engineering. Topics include polymer materials, design, and manufacturing processes.
    • A strong commitment is expected in the fields of service-oriented research and applied research projects, as well as in technology and knowledge transfer. A good network within the plastics processing industry would be advantageous.
    • In the long term, the position involves staff leadership, building a research team, and leading a research division.
    • Your primary place of work will be the technology transfer center Weißenburg of Ansbach University. Teaching will also take place at the main campus in Ansbach or other university locations.
    • Active acquisition of external funding through research and technology transfer activities
    • Practice-oriented teaching in German and English, including digital formats (e-learning, blended learning)
    • Strategic and content-related development of the subject area, with a special focus on digitalization
    • High-quality supervision of practical projects, bachelor’s and master’s theses, and doctoral candidates
    • Engagement in establishing and maintaining international partnerships
    • Active and interdisciplinary participation in academic self-governance at the University
You offer
    • Preferably a university degree (Diploma or Bachelor & Master combination)
    • Very good German language skills (at least C1 level)
    • Additionally, it is advantageous if you have expertise in one or more of the following areas:
      • Understanding of how component properties result from the interaction between different plastics or between plastics and other materials
      • Component design and manufacturing
      • Production technology and toolmaking
      • Leadership experience
      • Experience with and interest in smart polymer systems (functional materials)
      • Experience with and interest in protective polymers (applications in personal and object protection)
    • Excellent English skills and the ability and willingness to teach in English
    • A passion for passing on your practical knowledge to our students through teaching and applied research, helping shape the next generation of scientists

    • A completed university degree, preferably in plastics engineering, materials science, or related fields
    • Excellent academic achievements in research and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent academic qualification
    • Pedagogical aptitude
    • Special achievements in the application or development of academic knowledge and methods in a minimum of five years of work experience, which must have been acquired after completion of the university degree and of which at least three years must have been acquired outside the university sector. If, over a period of at least five years, a considerable portion of your work involved a cooperation between a university and a non-academic employer, this time may be considered to meet the requirements for non-academic work experience in special cases (pursuant to Article 57 (3) Sentence 1 No. 3 of the Bavarian Higher Education Innovation Act (BayHIG)).
