We are looking for an engineer or computer scientist with proven expertise in the field of autonomous and embedded systems. As a professor at a continuously growing university, you will have the opportunity to educate young students and actively shape innovative research in the field of rapid technical developments. Deggendorf Institute of Technology is continuing to expand this area and is looking for experts interested in a professorship.

MAIN TASKS

The future holder of the position will be responsible for teaching courses in the field of autonomous and embedded systems as well as basic subjects in the field of applied computer science and will be particularly involved in service research for industry, in applied research projects and in the field of technology and knowledge transfer.In addition to teaching and research, participation in academic self-administration will round off your field of activity. The willingness to take on additional (teaching) tasks in the Faculty of Applied Computer Science is a prerequisite.

YOUR PROFILE

In order to cope with this comprehensive task, you should have gained professional application-oriented and also theoretical experience in the field of autonomous and embedded systems as well as their application and use in various disciplines.Due to the international orientation of our university, it is necessary that part of the courses must be held in English and part in German. Therefore, very good written and spoken German and English skills are required.

Experience in the acquisition of third-party funds, especially in the environment of the programs of the BMBF and the Free State of Bavaria, as well as in the application and implementation of EU projects is an advantage.

General Requirements

• Completed university degree - special aptitude for scientific work, which is usually demonstrated by the quality of a doctorate - pedagogical aptitude - special achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods in at least five years of professional practice, which must have been acquired after completion of the university degree and of which at least three years must have been exercised outside the university sector; proof of professional practice outside the university sector can be provided in special cases by the fact that a significant part of the professional activity has been carried out over a period of at least five years in cooperation between the university and non-university professional practice.
  
  

The standard weekly teaching obligation for professors at universities of applied sciences is 18 full-time teaching hours per semester.
