Job Description
Teaching and Supervision
- Conduct lectures and courses in chemistry, green chemistry, sustainable chemical processes, and related topics at bachelor's and master's levels.
- Supervise final theses (bachelor’s and master’s).
- Develop innovative teaching formats combining sustainable chemistry and didactic approaches, such as project work, e-learning, or laboratory courses.
Research
- Establish and lead research in Green Chemistry focusing on sustainable synthesis, renewable resources, or circular economy.
- Publish in high-ranking international journals and present at scientific conferences.
- Secure third-party funding from sources like DFG, EU programs, or industry.
Networking and Collaborations
- Collaborate with industry partners to develop sustainable solutions.
- Work with other faculties and universities to promote interdisciplinary research in Green Chemistry.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer between academia, industry, and society.
Innovation and Sustainability
- Develop and implement sustainability concepts in education and research.
- Raise awareness through workshops, lectures, and student projects.
Academic Administration
- Contribute to the development of chemistry study programs focused on sustainability and environmental protection.
- Participate in university committees and academic commissions.
Mentoring and Community Building
- Support students in their academic and research endeavors.
- Establish an active Green Chemistry community within and beyond the university.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Safe and Sustainable-by-Design, Circular Economy, Biological Resources, or Chemical Recycling.
- Knowledge of analytical chemistry and modern analytical techniques.
- Experience with substance assessment methods is desirable.
- Willingness to adopt new technologies in chemical industry transformation.
- Proven success in securing funding and leading research projects.
- Established international network in sustainable chemistry.
- Teaching experience in Green Chemistry at university level.
- Supervision experience for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral theses.
- Good German skills or willingness to learn.
- Interest in industrial collaboration and entrepreneurship.
- At least three years of non-university professional experience or habilitation.
- PhD in Chemistry or relevant field.
