Job summary

Johnson Matthey Catalysts (Germany) GmbH is seeking a Production Manager to lead our production operations in Redwitz, Germany. You will drive safe, efficient manufacturing processes and ensure high-quality, on-time delivery while controlling costs and fostering a high-performance team.

You will develop the production organization, implement KPI-based performance management, and advance Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence initiatives to improve OEE and overall productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or related field.
• Several years of leadership experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence.
• Experience with automotive standards and quality tools (IATF 16949, APQP, FMEA, SPC, 8D).
• Proficient in German and English, written and spoken.
• Experience managing KPI-driven production operations with ERP.

• Meet high customer expectations for quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
• Lead and develop the production organization with safety-focused leadership.

• Develop and manage a KPI system to measure and improve production performance.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

The role:

• Take overall responsibility for our production operations and, together with your team, ensure safe, efficient, and competitive manufacturing processes.
• Create the conditions necessary to consistently meet the highest customer expectations in terms of quality, delivery performance, productivity, and cost, while driving the continuous development of our organization.
• Lead, coach, and further develop our production organization, promoting a high-performance, safety-focused, and team-oriented leadership culture.
• Take overall responsibility for the planning, management, and continuous optimization of all production areas with regard to quality, delivery performance, productivity, and cost.
• Ensure effective capacity, resource, and workforce planning to support the achievement of company objectives.
• Develop, implement, and manage a sustainable KPI system to transparently measure, analyze, and continuously improve production performance.
• In particular, you will be responsible for sustainably increasing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by improving availability, performance, and quality.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production performance on a long-term basis.

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Several years of leadership experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally in the automotive supply industry.
• Strong knowledge of modern production and manufacturing systems, Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Experience working with automotive standards and tools such as IATF 16949, APQP, FMEA, SPC, and 8D.
• Proven experience managing production operations through KPI-driven performance management and working with ERP systems.
• Fluent communication skills in both German and English, written and spoken.
• A strong people leader who can develop, motivate, and align employees and managers toward shared goals.
