Zusammenfassung

A leading mobile gaming company in Berlin is looking for a Product Scientist/Data Analyst to lead A/B testing efforts across various mobile games. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, experience in mobile gaming, and strong programming skills in R/Python. This role requires collaboration with product managers and designers to drive data-informed decisions and insights.

Qualifikationen

  • 2 - 4 years of professional experience preferred.
  • Experience designing and evaluating quantitative experiments.
  • Previous experience in mobile gaming is a plus.

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Product Scientist / Data Analyst to lead experimentation and A/B testing efforts across our diverse mobile games portfolio at Lion Studios. In this role, you'll design, execute, and analyze experiments that inform critical product decisions — from game mechanics and monetization strategies to LiveOps features and UX improvements.


You’ll work closely with product managers, game designers, and data engineers to ensure our decisions are grounded in rigorous analysis and statistically sound experimentation

Key Responsibilities
  • Translating business requirements into technical implementations via instrumentation in games to collect necessary data

  • Design and manage A/B tests across multiple titles, ensuring tests are well-structured, statistically valid, and actionable.

  • Define success metrics and analytical frameworks to evaluate core gameplay, monetization, and retention experiments.

  • Build dashboards and reports that communicate key experiment outcomes and product insights to stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with product teams to develop hypotheses and provide data-driven recommendations.

  • Work with data engineering to ensure proper event tracking and data reliability

  • Drive the experimentation roadmap across the portfolio to foster a culture of rapid iteration and continuous learning.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 2 - 4 years of professional experience. Specific experience with social games, mobile apps, and/or cognitive sciences is strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field. Honors thesis or Master’s degree with thesis is strongly preferred.

  • Experience designing, running and evaluating quantitative experiments.

  • Proficient with R and/or Python for data modeling and analysis.

  • Proficient with SQL.

  • Ability to be self-sufficient and execute quickly when given autonomy.

  • Flexible team player who will thrive in a dynamic, constantly evolving environment.

  • Excellent English and communication skills.

  • Previous experience in mobile gaming, especially with free-to-play or hybrid casual games.

  • Familiarity with user segmentation, cohort analysis, and predictive modelling.
