Product Owner - Quantum Chemistry (f/m/d)

Your mission

As Product Owner (Quantum Chemistry) at planqc you will be responsible for developing and maintaining quantum algorithms for quantum chemistry use cases as well as for the corresponding customer projects in this area. In close collaboration with the hardware team, you will contribute towards optimal hardware-software co-design workflows and develop optimized algorithms for neutral atom quantum computers.

Key responsibilities:

• Take responsibility for multiple projects, including the associated project management and timely delivery of milestones to customers.
• Develop and implement quantum algorithms for quantum chemistry applications on quantum simulators and quantum hardware.
• Enable and establish optimal hardware-software co-design workflows through interactions with the planqc hardware team.
• Share knowledge and collaborate effectively within the team.
• Write grant applications and contribute towards planqc’s strategic direction in quantum chemistry applications.
• Continuously learn about new algorithms and neutral atom quantum computers.

Your profile

Necessary requirements:

• PhD in Physics or Theoretical Chemistry.
• 3+ years of postdoctoral experience or industry experience.
• Expert knowledge of quantum physics and quantum computing.
• Highly motivated.
• Identify as a team player.
• Have a valid work permit in Germany or the EU & are preferably based in Munich or open to relocation.
• Fluent in English and German.

Supplementary skills:

• Proven track record of hands-on experience with DFT and DMFT.
• Experience with Tensor Networks.
• Worked in an agile setting (Scrum).
• Team leadership experience.
• Knowledge of quantum error correction.
