Purpose
We have a very successful residential and commercial Stormwater business in the AMERICAS region that we want to roll out in other regions. As a Product Manager for Stormwater products in the EMEA region, you will play a pivotal role in building and growing the Stormwater product business from the ground up. Your mission is to develop and execute a winning strategy that drives market penetration and development, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, our AMERICAS Water team, external partners, and other stakeholders to create a successful product portfolio.
Your responsibilities:
Business Development
- Build the Stormwater product business in the EMEA region, leveraging the resources and expertise of our successful Stormwater/Drainage business in the AMERICAS region.
- Conduct thorough market research to understand customer needs, regulatory requirements, and the competitive landscape for Residential and Commercial Stormwater.
- Identify gaps and opportunities for Residential and Commercial Stormwater products within the region.
- Identify potential strategic partners, alliances, and target companies in the European Stormwater market.
- Define a clear vision for Stormwater products aligned with our overall strategy for EMEA Water.
- Develop a comprehensive product roadmap considering market entry, product development, and expansion.
- Prioritize features, enhancements, and new product introductions.
- Be the subject matter expert both technically and relative to the market for Residential and Commercial Stormwater products.
Product Development
- Work closely with Engineering and R&D teams to design and develop the right range of Stormwater products.
- Define product specifications, features, and performance criteria.
- Ensure products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Market Positioning & Go-to-Market
- Plan and execute product line positioning, messaging, and outbound communications to ensure a clear, compelling, and consistent message to internal and external stakeholders.
- Craft compelling value propositions that resonate with potential customers, such as specifiers, distributors, and professional contractors.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Sales teams to create go-to-market strategies.
- Design marketing and incentive programs to introduce new products, build brand awareness, and create a strong preference for NDS products with end users, distributors, specifiers, and professional contractors.
- Equip the sales team with the necessary knowledge and tools to sell Stormwater products.
- Develop sales collateral, product documentation, and training materials in collaboration with the Marketing team.
- Participate in customer meetings and presentations.
- Forecast demand for Stormwater products and manage inventory levels.
- Develop and monitor pricing strategies, cost structures, and profitability.
- Track financial performance against targets.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with suppliers, distributors, and channel partners.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Address conflicts or challenges that arise during business development.
Requirements for the role:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in product management, preferably in Stormwater management, environmental solutions, or related industries.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to create something new.
- Demonstrated success in meeting business goals and profitably growing sales.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with business leaders to create alignment and support.
- Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.
- Strong project management, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Fluency in English (C1+) required; German or other European languages would be an advantage.
- Ability to travel 25%, mostly within Europe.
