The Opportunity:

Product Manager Europe – Self-Manufactured Production Chemicals

Avantor is seeking a strategic and results-driven Product Manager Europe for a remote position. This role involves managing revenue and margin for an EU-focused portfolio of Self-Manufactured Production Chemicals utilized in upstream, downstream, and fill & finish stages of Biopharma production.

Team Structure

The Product Manager will report to the Director of Product Management - BPP Chemicals, based in the US, and will collaborate within a team of five strategic professionals.

What we’re looking for

• Education: BS/BA in a scientific or business-related discipline; Concentrations in Biology, Biopharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and/or Marketing preferred
• Experience: Preferred minimum of 5 years’ experience in biopharma, pharma, chemical or related industry
• Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, Word, etc.) experience highly preferred

How you will thrive and create an impact

• Manages pricing, positioning and segmentation of products in the Self Manufactured Production chemicals portfolio.
• Develops and executes strategic growth plans to deliver results aligned with corporate goals. Sets commercial product strategies within market segments for execution by the commercial team.
• Optimizes production of materials across a Pan-European manufacturing network. Coordinates with other Avantor segments to maximize ROI on shared assets. Works to resolve supply chain and technical issues with manufacturing, engineering, and quality on product line.
• Accountable for ensuring that product specifications align with market expectations and with manufacturing capability.
• Support QARA function in ensuring products align with market expectations. Accountable for New Product Setup and Management of Change, etc.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders as needed on growth opportunities or issue resolution. Respond to technical questions from customers and sales team on existing products in a timely manner
• Collaborates with supply chain, planning and commercial functions to ensure forecast accuracy.
• Prepare competitive product features, competitive pricing analysis and conduct ongoing market insight. Report to senior leadership team as required.
• Support maintenance of product line data in systems – ERP, specification, master data, instructions, technical data, etc.
• Works with Strategic Marketing to prepare and provide product training for field sales and including existing and new products. Assist with both sales training and the development of content of collateral materials.
