Information about the position

Youll be the driving force behind making Vinteds marketplace categories smarter and easier to use. As the Product Manager for Category Management, youll shape the future of how buyers and sellers find and list items by leading big-picture projects like launching new categories, improving how product details are organized, and rolling out new systems for managing inventory. Youll work across teamsengineering, design, analytics, and moreto turn ideas into real improvements that make shopping on Vinted faster, smoother, and more enjoyable for millions of users. In this position, youll

  • Develop and maintain a rolling 12-month roadmap for new category launches, structural optimisations, and metadata innovations (e.g., SKU support).
  • Collaborate with domain and marketplace leadership to align on objectives and success criteria.
  • Identify high-impact category problems through marketplace analysis, user research, and input from vertical teams.
  • Validate opportunities through taxonomy changes, prototyping, and close work with interface-owning teams.
  • Translate opportunities into clear problem statements and prioritise initiatives based on capacity, member impact, and business goals.
  • Maintain a transparent backlog of category and metadata improvements.
  • Lead cross-domain programs by creating lightweight project structuresdefining scope, milestones, dependencies, and managing risks.
  • Coordinate delivery with engineering, design, analytics, search, localisation, trust & safety, and commercial teams.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for cross-domain questions related to category product challenges.
  • Facilitate decisions on minimum viable solutions for category requirements (e.g., required vs. optional listing attributes).
  • Escalate unresolved trade-offs with evidence and recommendations to domain leadership.
  • Define leading and lagging metrics (e.g., entity performance, time-to-first-click, attribute completeness) for initiatives.
  • Partner with Decision Scientists to build dashboards and analyze outcomes.
  • Communicate progress and results to stakeholders regularly through updates and post-launch reports.
  • Continuously improve by staying updated on marketplace trends and category management best practices.
  • Gather feedback from taxonomists, analysts, and member-facing teams to refine processes and tooling.

About you

  • Proven experience in product or program management within e-commerce, marketplace, or catalog-focused domains.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-team initiatives without direct engineering ownership.
  • Strong analytical skills; comfortable defining metrics and creating dashboards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesise technical and business perspectives.

  • Experience launching or optimising product categories or verticals at scale.
  • Background in metadata design, search relevance, or structured data workflows.
  • Exposure to AI-driven classification, recommendation systems, or SKU management in retail.
