Job summary

RIZM in Germany seeks a Product Engineer to build Energy OS, designing features from idea to production and developing AI agents that read digital twins, run optimizations, explain plans and will soon act autonomously on real industrial sites.

You'll own end-to-end delivery across modules, deploy via CI/CD, and work in a hybrid setup based in Munich, Düsseldorf or Münster with a small, focused team.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in computer science, software engineering, business informatics or a comparable STEM qualification.
• Experience: 2–5 years building customer-facing products – proven launch track record.
• AI-Native: Shipped LLM features; understand costs and failure modes.
• Product Sense & Ownership: Strong design discussion, scope cutting, high ownership.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Features: Ship user-facing features across modules – Digital Twin, Designer, Operator and Portfolio Manager – from concept to production.
• AI Agents: Build agents reading digital twins, executing optimizations, and deploying to customer installations.
• Reliable AI: Address hallucinations with guardrails, grounding and evals.
• Make Data Visible: Create clear visualizations of simulation outputs (time series, charts, maps).
• Full-Stack & Production: Engage with API, DB, optimization services, CI/CD, and production paths.

As a Product Engineer, you build that product: you design what you build, ship features from idea to production, and develop AI agents that read digital twins, run optimizations, explain plans and will soon act autonomously. No ticket queue – real impact at real industrial sites, with short feedback loops straight from the customer.

Tasks

End-to-End Features: Ship user-facing features across our four modules – Digital Twin, Designer, Operator and Portfolio Manager – from concept and design to production.

AI Agents: Build agents that read digital twins, execute optimizations, explain plans and eventually act autonomously – and deploy them into individual customer installations, evaluated against real customer data.

Reliable AI: Treat hallucinations as an engineering problem – with guardrails, grounding and evals.

Make Data Visible: Turn complex simulation outputs into clear visualizations – time series, charts, maps.

Full-Stack & Production: Go down the stack when needed – API, database, optimization service interfaces – and own the path to production: CI/CD, services, jobs.

Live Data Flows: Keep data streams from customer IT/OT systems, market data, weather data and public APIs running reliably.

Ship Faster: Improve how we ship through tooling, testing and agent workflows.

Requirements

Education & Background: Degree in computer science, software engineering, business informatics or a comparable STEM qualification.

Experience: 2–5 years building customer-facing products – ideally at companies known for software craftsmanship. A proven track record of taking complex features from idea to launch.

AI-Native: You've shipped LLM features to real users and understand their costs and failure modes. Claude Code, agents and subagents are part of your daily loop.

Product Sense & Ownership: You discuss design details, cut scope without being asked and take on unclear work – high ownership, low ceremony.

Curiosity for Energy: No prior knowledge of industrial energy required – but the appetite for it is.
