We're headquartered in Chemnitz, Germany, with offices in many locations throughout the world, including New York, London, Berlin and Dresden. Our international team counts more than 750 employees from 45+ nationalities and we have a growing base of 2200+ customers that want to transform their employee experience. We are rapidly scaling, post-Series E ($115 million funding), have strong-growing revenue, and our customers love us.

At Staffbase, you'll have the opportunity to redefine the role of internal communications in the enterprise world. We're looking for an exceptional Product Design Manager to lead and shape the strategic design direction of one of our key products: Employee Email. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including the Group Product Manager and Engineering Managers, to drive impactful, user-centered design.

You'll lead a talented team of 3–4 Product Designers and report directly to the VP of Product Experience.

What you'll be doing

  • Deeply understand and empathize with our users to define the long-term UX strategy for Employee Email, and champion this vision across your team
  • Promote design quality and consistency, driving key principles such as information architecture, accessibility, research, and design thinking within your team—and potentially across other product streams
  • Lead, mentor, and grow your team of Product Designers, fostering their development while co-creating effective design processes
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to deliver intuitive, impactful user experiences
  • Align your team's work with company goals, empowering them to produce research and design outcomes, while remaining hands-on with selected projects when needed
  • Drive holistic design leadership within Employee Email, leading initiatives that improve user experience and contribute to business impact
  • Collaborate with customer-facing teams and communicate design progress and achievements across stakeholders, including the Product organization, other departments, and executive leadership
  • Be a strong advocate for the end-user, ensuring continuous improvement of the experience for employees using our products

What you need to be successful

  • 7+ years of experience in product/UX design, including 2+ years managing designers in cross-functional teams
  • An outstanding portfolio to demonstrate both leadership and hands-on experience
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage a design team—setting goals, providing feedback, and nurturing professional growth
  • Strong experience collaborating with Product Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to drive cohesive product development
  • Demonstrated ability to align design vision and strategy with business objectives
  • A collaborative approach, involving research, data, and team input through workshops, critiques, and feedback sessions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A proactive mindset, with attention to detail and the ability to see the bigger picture

What you'll get

  • Competitive Compensation - we offer attractive salary packages including a Long-Term Incentive Plan
  • Flexibility - we offer flexible working time models and the option of hybrid work, and support this with a yearly flex work allowance of €1560
  • Growth Budget - all employees get a yearly budget for external training of €1000, and one day off for growth per year (increase to two days in 2nd year)
  • Recharge - with 31 vacation days annually (incl. one floating holiday), plus pro rata fully paid Fridays off during August
  • Wellbeing - Monthly Wellbeing Allowance €35, from fitness to mental health, hobbies to relaxation
  • Support - we're offering a company pension scheme
  • Sports & Health - join our sport courses in the offices. The offices are equipped with fruits, drinks and snacks
  • Team Building - Regular team and office events including the yearly Staffbase Camp
  • Volunteers Day - you'll get one day off per year for supporting a social project
  • Employee Referral Program - one of your friends is a fit to one of our full-time openings? Refer them and get a referral bonus paid
