Job summary

JD.com Inc. is seeking an experienced logistics optimization professional to drive cost reduction and efficiency improvements across delivery stations in Germany. You will analyze data, standardize receiving, sortation, and route planning processes, and create SOPs and training materials to enable frontline teams.

The role requires 5+ years in logistics with a background in e-commerce. Fluent English is required; German or French proficiency is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• 5+ years in the logistics, delivery or distribution industry.
• Experience in process optimization and SOP creation.
• Six Sigma experience is a plus.
• Fluent English; German or French proficiency preferred.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with ability to implement systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Improvement experience driven by BPMN tools.

Responsibilities

• Drive cost optimization, efficiency improvements, and process streamlining through data analysis.
• Optimize and standardize in-station processes (receiving, sortation, route planning, loading).
• Create SOPs, workflows and work instructions.
• Define system requirements and collaborate with tech teams on functionalities and design.
• Create reports measuring performance and quality.
• Develop training material and conduct train-the-trainer sessions.
• Lead root cause analysis to resolve KPI gaps using Lean tools.
• Collaborate with stations to capture challenges and promote changes.
• Promote continuous improvement by training frontline leaders on Lean principles.
• Create routines to improve delivery stations.

About The Team

What You’ll Do

• Driving cost optimization, efficiency improvements, and process streamlining through data analysis
• Optimization and standardization of in-station processes such as receiving, sortation, route planning and loading
• Creation of SOPs, workflows and work instructions
• Definition and scoping of system requirements and cooperation with tech teams for system functionalities and design
• Creation of reports measuring performance and quality
• Creation of training material and train the trainer sessions
• Lead root cause analysis (using Lean, 5S or similar tools) to resolve performance gaps in relevant In Station KPIs
• Collaborate with stations’ teams to capture challenges and promote process changes
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement by training frontline leaders on lean principles
• Create and implement routines and mechanisms to drive improvement in the delivery stations

About You

• Bachelor’s degree or higher; 5+ years of experience in the logistics and delivery/ distribution industry
• Preferably retail;e-commerce background
• Experience in process optimization, creation of SOPs
• Six Sigma experience is a plus
• Fluent English, which can be used as a working language; German or French proficiency preferred;
• Excellent communication and coordination skills, as well as the ability to implement systems;
• Advanced excel
• Improvement experience driven by BPMN tools
• The preferred base locations are Oberhausen, Munich, and Berlin; however, applications for other cities in Germany are also welcome
