Über uns: This role is based in Oelde, Germany. Amazon is seeking Site Process Engineers to work in the EU Process Engineering (EU PE) team. The Site Process Engineer is an onsite position. The EU PE team is a group of operational leaders driving process stabilization, standardization, and continuous improvement for the EU Customer Fulfilment Network. This team is essential to establish best-in-class process performance across various processes, accelerate technological advancements, and strengthen the technical acumen and process knowledge of operational leaders across the Fulfillment Center (FC) network.

The team ensures operations teams are equipped with the functional expertise to deliver expected gains from technology advances and network-wide process improvements. It drives process control and performance consistency to minimize variation and deliver strong performance. The team collaborates closely with Process System Engineering (PSE), ACES PM, Central Ops, launch teams, operations engineering, and RME teams to improve input metrics by prioritizing and channeling resources.

The Site Process Engineer works alongside the FC Senior Leadership Team and maintains high collaboration with EU PE functions. Responsibilities include deploying initiatives, building networks and relationships within the FC, and driving compliance within set timelines. The role involves initiating and implementing EU-wide improvement activities, demonstrating ownership, understanding initiatives in detail, and influencing outcomes to achieve productivity and efficiency gains in the FC.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Back to Basics (B2B) initiatives: Identify top opportunities by analyzing process gaps, implement improvement plans, oversee program focus, analyze data, and collaborate with central PE functions and other Site PEs for benchmarking.
  2. Continuous Improvement: Drive best practice implementation, leverage local initiatives, capture and scale FC innovations, and ensure major projects are included in the Operating Plan.
  3. Deployment of EU initiatives: Ensure timely execution, support test and pilot phases, and review deployment across EU FCs.
  4. Partnership with FC Ops: Join daily Gemba, organize weekly meetings, support relationship building with site leadership, and assist with ad hoc process tasks.
  5. EU Projects: Support or lead projects expanding scope and coordinating multiple FCs to enhance project management skills.
  6. Operational Support: Be prepared to support site management and be flexible with travel (0-10%).
Minimum qualifications
  • Degree from an accredited institution
  • English and German, C1 level
  • Experience in Operations as Area Manager or similar
  • Technical knowledge of at least one Fulfillment process path (Quriosity silver/gold certification)
Preferred qualifications
  • Strong experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen
  • Knowledge of change management and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Excellent communication and detail orientation
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Motivational skills for team leadership
