JOB TITLE: Wedding & Private Events Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Banquet Manager
DIVISION: Food & Beverage Department
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time/Year-Round/Hourly
POSITION:
The Wedding & Private Events Coordinator is primarily involved in the coordination and
animation of private events (weddings, corporate groups, social groups, etc.), while providing support to the sales team as needed. The Private Events Coordinator works with internal and external contacts to deliver on event needs, including food and beverage, lodging, A/V equipment, activities, and set up.
SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Organized, self-motivated, reliable, and multi-task oriented
* Good verbal & written communication skills
* Must enjoy delivering great customer service
* Must be able to navigate stressful situations with diplomacy and tact
* Be available for a varied work schedule and additional time as workload dictates
* Be available to work on-site at the resort
* Proper Health and Alcohol certifications required within 30 days of employment
* IT and A/V equipment knowledge and skills preferred
* Previous travel, hospitality, or ski industry experience required
* Previous event experience required
* Intermediate ski or snowboard ability preferred, and valid driver's license required
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Be on site and available during event days
* Support event day staff, including facilities, food & beverage and external coordinators
* Coordinate between all departments to create the best and most cohesive experience for events
* Facilitate event and group activities on-site, on-mountain, and when necessary, on skis/snowboard
* Be the liaison and point of contact between groups and Solitude
* Assist group on final food, beverage, rental and timeline choices and communicate choices to
appropriate internal departments in a timely manner
* Attend & help direct weddings, rehearsals, and events
* Work with F&B to develop menus for each wedding or group
* Host site tours, including venues, lodging properties, and on-mountain
* Supervise room set up and F&B presentation
* Resolve problems that arise while group is on site
* Collect deposits and final payments. Ensure group billing account is opened and closed properly
* Attend trade shows
* Other duties as assigned
