About the role

The Principal Solution Engineer will play a pivotal role in Kyriba's continued success by combining deep treasury expertise, consultative sales skills, and value-based business case development. This role will collaborate with current and prospective clients in the region to explore, justify, and realize business value from Enterprise Liquidity Management initiatives while demonstrating Kyriba’s treasury technology solutions.

Working closely with corporate Finance, Treasury, Accounting, Payments, and Risk Management departments, the Principal Solutions Engineer will consult on strategic investments, transformation initiatives, and modernization efforts. This role involves pre-sales activities to secure new business. The position requires thought leadership, change management, and technical acumen to drive Kyriba’s market leadership.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  1. Lead business case development and value-based consulting for current and prospective clients within the region.
  2. Develop and deliver strategic product demonstrations to illustrate the benefits of Kyriba’s solutions.
  3. Conduct whiteboarding, discovery, and execute workshops with prospective clients.
  4. Build proof-of-concepts for customer-specific scenarios.
  5. Prepare for meetings and tailor communications to address the business needs of potential clients as part of the pre-sales process.
  6. Collaborate with Sales teams to support pre-sales activities, respond to RFPs / RFIs, and tailor communications to client needs.
  7. Promote new thinking about Enterprise Liquidity Management (Treasury, Risk Management, Payments, and Working Capital Management) and develop cases for change.
  8. Enhance existing value-engineering tools and methodologies, contributing new intellectual property.
  9. Partner with Professional Services and Client Success teams to refine value messaging using benchmarks and historical business case data.
  10. Represent Kyriba at conferences, seminars, and client engagements as a thought leader in treasury technology.
  11. Stay current on market trends, competitive differentiators, and evolving business needs in corporate finance.
  12. Provide feedback to Product Management on client requirements, product gaps, and market opportunities.
  13. Support Sales Enablement initiatives, including training for new hires and ongoing sales education.
  14. Travel throughout the sales territory (DACH).

Education, Experience & Skills

  • A master’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline is strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in presales or a sales support function.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in treasury, cash management, or corporate finance, or in a related technology role.
  • Self-motivated with a proven track record in treasury or software sales, and knowledge of technology.
  • Comfortable in a dynamic, technical environment with a rapidly expanding customer base.
  • Strong presentation skills and professional communication in written responses to emails, RFPs, and reports.
  • Organized and analytical, able to overcome sales obstacles through creative approaches.
  • Deep understanding of corporate cash and liquidity management processes.
  • Knowledge of corporate financial risk management practices related to foreign exchange and interest rate hedging.
  • Ability to communicate technical and business information to varied audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to understand business processes and problems.
  • Ability to analyze financial data relationships and leverage data to solve problems.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and managing multiple subjects and products.
  • Ability to understand and capture business and technical requirements related to Treasury services.
  • Knowledge of strategic, consultative selling, and emerging technologies.
  • Effective in developing marketing messages and delivering them.
