Position Description:

The German Solutions Engineering team is involved in all stages of the customer’s development lifecycle and communicates with customers via presentations, email, phone, and social media. We seek team members capable of building sales presentations, product demonstrations, and educating customers (from developers to C-level executives) on cloud security technology best practices.

Our Solutions Engineers empathize with customers, quickly understanding their technical needs by asking detailed questions and presenting targeted solutions. You possess a blend of technical savvy and business insight and are eager to utilize both. As a Solutions Engineer at Okta, you will advise a diverse customer base on the capabilities of Okta’s Identity Platform.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with account executives to develop and implement territory and account strategies to maximize opportunities
• Research and discover customer requirements; communicate the business value of cloud technology solutions
• Deliver proof of concepts for complex use cases, collaborating with engineering teams as needed
• Create technical content demonstrating implementation of specific use cases or methodologies
• Prepare and deliver demos illustrating how the Okta platform addresses customer needs
• Gather and relay customer feedback to Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales

Desired Skills:

• Customer service passion, ideally from roles like consulting or support, especially solutions engineering
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively via presentations and whiteboards
• Strong understanding of Identity & Access Management (IAM): SSO, MFA, SCIM, OAuth, OIDC, SAML, LDAP
• Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture and security concerns such as password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption, XSS, XSRF
• Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP
• Exceptional communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple personas: IT admins, CISOs, architects, procurement, legal
• Confidence in sharing knowledge with skilled, experienced audiences
• Willingness to travel 10-25%
