Wood is recruiting for a Principal Renewable Energy consultant to join the advisory services team looking after Solar and Hybrid projects. The team are based in the Hamburg office, however, we recognise the value of remote and hybrid working so are open to applications throughout Germany.

We are currently working on global projects from across the renewables sector including onshore and offshore Wind, Solar PV, Hydrogen and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

The Role

Our Principal Renewable Energy Consultants (PRECs) project manage a portfolio of due diligence assignments, assessing renewable energy projects on behalf of our clients. Through a collaborative approach with multi-discipline teams, the PREC will produce a professional and detailed report aligning with the client’s requirements.

As the PREC, you will be the main focal point for the client, ensuring any challenges that arise are dealt with directly and developing strong relationships to play a part in the successful financing of the project and continued growth for the Renewables business.

We have a library of training material for advisory services and a companywide Energy Transition academy. As an expert in your field, you can join these communities and share your knowledge across the business supporting in securing a future generation of experts.

You will also have the opportunity to mentor and support the development of other consultants within the team, ensuring your knowledge and experience are shared to support future growth.

Expected qualifications and experience:

• Degree in engineering or a related business discipline
• Understanding of renewable energy infrastructure projects
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Excellent report writing skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience in technical due diligence on infrastructure projects or related teams
• Knowledge of project finance and commercial aspects of renewable projects
• Ability to assess and mitigate risks
• Team management experience
• Ability to speak a second language
• Valid driving license
• Experience with onshore/offshore wind projects and offshore work
• Financial analysis and modeling knowledge
