As Principal Engineer Software Architecture for Embedded Compute and AI, you will play a pivotal role in our new Platform Architecture Team, driving the top-level software architecture of our innovative platform and shaping the future of our development with AI support. This role can be based in Munich or Langen.

In your new role you will:

  • Develop and define embedded software artificial intelligence concepts for our new embedded platform, incorporating hardware accelerators under safety constraints and limited power on edge devices
  • Design and benchmark the compute infrastructure, focusing on software components, including core selection, virtualization concepts, interrupts, and inter-process communication
  • Develop, prototype, and benchmark AI assistance to support our development activities, enhancing efficiency and productivity
  • Take responsibility for defining related software requirements and the top-level software architecture, including tool architecture, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance
  • Provide early feedback and influence the platform definition, ensuring that the software architecture aligns with business objectives and customer needs
  • Take ownership of proof-of-concept definition and execution, demonstrating the feasibility and value of new ideas and technologies
  • Lead and conduct technical benchmarking activities, comparing and evaluating different solutions to identify the best fit for our platform
  • Engage in technical discussions with customers and partners, showcasing your expertise in embedded compute and AI software artificial concepts and fostering strong relationships

You are best equipped for those tasks if you have:
  • A degree in technical studies such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Information Technology, with a PhD being advantageous
  • At least 6 years of professional experience in the field of automotive and embedded software engineering, with 2-3 years specifically in embedded artificial intelligence
  • Profound knowledge of various CPU cores, including ARM, ARC, RISC-V, Tricore, and others.
  • Proven ability to take leadership in your field of expertise, guiding teams and projects to success
  • In-depth and proven knowledge of Adaptive AUTOSAR, as well as tools and programming languages like TensorFlow, KERAS, Matlab, Python, Rust and Embedded C/C++
  • Experience and curiosity in applying LLMs and AI agents to improve development flows, demonstrating a passion for continuous learning and innovation
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English, enabling you to effectively engage with customers, partners, and colleagues
