Valeo seeks a Principal Discipline Engineer (m/f/d) for Kronach-Neuses to shape intelligent mobility. You will design enterprise cloud architectures on AWS/GCP, lead SRE practices, and drive DevSecOps with compliance-as-code.

German and English fluency are essential, with strong leadership to mentor teams. You will collaborate across cloud foundations, solution architecture, and toolchains, bridging cloud services with automotive hardware.

We are looking for YOU as Principal Discipline Engineer (m/f/d) for our location in Kronach-Neuses.

These Challenges Await You As

• Cloud Foundation & Landing Zone Architecture: Architect scalable multi-cloud landing zones (GCP & AWS). Own the Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) strategy to ensure the foundation is reproducible. Implement governance, multi-tenancy, and network topology that balances strict security with developer agility.
• Enabling Solution Architecture & Go-Live: Blueprint cloud-native patterns for individual solutions, ensuring they are production-ready before Go-Live. Architect hybrid solutions bridging cloud services with physical hardware (HiL/SiL).
• SRE, Ops, & Toolchains: Build the "Golden Path" for developers. Standardize CI/CD pipelines and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch). Implement SLIs/SLOs to transition teams to code-and-operate mindsets.
• DevSecOps & Compliance-as-Code: Partner with the Foundation Lead to translate automotive regulatory requirements (ASPICE, ISO 26262) into automated pipeline checks and quality gates, ensuring security is baked in.
• Technical Mentorship: Lead by example as a force multiplier for junior cloud engineers, setting architectural standards, conducting design reviews, and elevating the organization’s collective knowledge on distributed systems.

You Inspire Us With That

• Minimum 8 years of experience in designing and implementing enterprise-scale cloud architectures on AWS and/or GCP, with a proven track record in Platform Engineering and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
• Expert-level knowledge of cloud and infrastructure technologies, including Terraform, Kubernetes (EKS/GKE), Docker, Helm, and AWS services such as IAM, Route 53, and CloudFront
• Strong expertise in networking and toolchains, including DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, VPN, VPC, Transit Gateway, as well as CI/CD and observability tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenSearch
• Hands-on experience in regulated environments (e.g., Automotive, FinTech, or MedTech) with a strong understanding of compliance-as-code, DevSecOps practices, and cybersecurity concepts such as OIDC, PKI, and Zero-Trust architectures
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, acting as a mentor, modernization champion, technical evangelist, and analytical problem solver; experience with Automotive standards such as ASPICE and ISO 26262 is considered a strong advantage
• You speak German and English fluently
