MXON is the first live Minter on the M0 Protocol, operating the infrastructure that transforms real-world collateral like U.S. Treasuries into onchain monetary building blocks - $M. $M is M0’s programmable, composable foundation for builders to create their own application-specific digital dollars via M0’s $M Extensions. MXON was incubated and funded by the M0 project, and grew to become the first Minter on the M0 network.

MXON is seeking a Principal Engineer to take ownership of the systems that power the creation of M and putting it in the hands of partner builders in the world. You’ll be responsible for building out the infrastructure that enables automated minting, redemptions, inventory management, multi-chain bridging, integrations, liquidity and market access. This role starts as a senior individual contributor position, with full-stack ownership and meaningful scope, but is designed to grow into a technical leadership role as the team scales. Please note: This position is open only to candidates who are based outside of the United States.

You'll work directly with the Head of MXON and M0’s Chief Technical Officer to execute on a clear, productized system vision, and have broad autonomy to define architecture, set engineering practices, and shape the long-term technical direction of the Minter stack.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated onchain minting and cross-chain stablecoin liquidity management solutions. You will engineer institutional-grade infrastructure with high uptime, automation, and operational resilience to support our day-to-day operations delivering reliable services to partners.
• Deploy modern web applications using best practices to ensure security, compliance, security, and high availability.
• Implement monitoring and alerting systems to deliver high-uptime, low-latency user experiences.
• Collaborate with operators and control function teams to build tools and interfaces that enhance customer experience, issuance and treasury operations, risk management, reporting and reconciliation workflows.
• Mentor mid-level engineers, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of knowledge sharing and best practices.
• Promote engineering excellence and agile practices to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with strong proficiency in TypeScript and solid expertise in Python and SQL.
• Proficient in smart contract development for EVM-compatible chains.
• Advanced backend experience with Node.js, Python, or similar languages, and a proven history of building scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Prior experience with the Fireblocks API is a plus.
• Direct experience with DeFi applications, including lending, derivatives, AMMs, and stablecoins, with the ability to design and implement complex on-chain financial logic.
• Experience designing infrastructure that supports real-world financial operations and meets institutional reliability expectations is a plus
• Are comfortable working across the stack, from backend systems and APIs to CLI tools and lightweight UIs.
• Practical experience deploying and managing applications across multi-region cloud platforms.
• Proficient with CI/CD processes and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
