Job Description:
- The position involves a broad spectrum of communication-related tasks, including media relations, stakeholder management, topic-setting, issue management, and online communication.
- As a member of the Communications Team, you will handle communications and public relations work on energy policy issues in Germany at the national level.
- You will develop targeted communication strategies, coordinate their implementation tailored to specific target groups and media sources, and evaluate their success.
- As a press spokesperson, you will be the primary contact for supra-regional German media sources and will position the company’s activities in Germany. You will build and maintain contacts with media outlets covering related issues.
- You will draft position papers and press releases on energy policy issues in Germany and disseminate them to relevant target groups.
- You will manage supra-regional crisis communication in Germany and serve as a spokesperson during crises.
- You will monitor and analyze national media sources, follow energy policy reporting on domestic raw material production and carbon management, and report significant developments to the Management Team.
- You will accompany senior management and colleagues to relevant events, discussions, and interviews with journalists on energy policy topics, including preparation and follow-up.
- You will provide internal advice on communication-related issues.
- The role requires regular presence in Berlin and the ability to work independently there.
What we expect:
- Ideally, journalistic training or a university degree in economics or communications, with relevant additional training.
- Several years of experience in corporate communications, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to present complex technical, political, and regulatory issues clearly and target-group orientated.
- Enthusiasm for energy policy communication and engaging with stakeholders at the national level.
- Excellent communication, social, and teamwork skills.
- A structured, forward-looking work approach, self-initiative, and diplomatic skills.
- Fluent command of English and an interest in social and energy policy issues.
