Offer Description

The Institute of Animal Nutrition is part of the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the Freie Universität Berlin. It focuses on the research and optimization of feeding concepts for farm and companion animals. The central topics include:

  • Effects of feed composition on animal health and well-being
  • Interaction of feed components with gut microbiota and their impact on immune function and intestinal integrity
  • Sustainable feeding strategies and alternative nutrient sources considering both animal health and ecological/economic aspects

Skills/Qualifications

Participation in research and teaching in the field of animal nutrition, particularly within the framework of third-party funded projects at the institute;

Planning, conducting, and evaluating scientific studies on nutritional issues in farm animals and/or companion animals;

Participation in the supervision of students (e.g., courses, theses, laboratory internships);
Participation in the care of the animal population;
Participation in the preparation of scientific publications, conference contributions, and project reports;
This activity serves the individual's own academic qualification (a doctorate in medicine or veterinary medicine or PhD; a corresponding doctoral project is expressly desired).

Specific Requirements

Completed university degree in veterinary medicine; veterinary approbation (license).
