About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Pre-Authorization Coordinator to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment. You will be relied upon for your expertise, professionalism, and collaboration. This is a full-time remote position.

Responsibilities

  1. Verify patient insurance benefits.
  2. Explain insurance coverage and treatment costs, and identify the need for pre-authorizations.
  3. Advise patients of coverage, limitations, exclusions, co-insurance, deductibles, and program requirements.
  4. Communicate coverage details to patients and clinics.
  5. Determine patient responsibility amounts in advance of procedures.
  6. Serve as a Patient Advocate when patients have difficulty navigating insurance issues.
  7. Respond to patient calls and correspondence regarding billing questions, policies, and claims.
  8. Review medical records for authorization requirements.
  9. Communicate preauthorization requirements and updates to clinics.
  10. Update patient accounts with insurance information and changes, ensuring proper documentation.
  11. Respond to high volumes of inquiries professionally, resolving issues within designated timeframes.
  12. Meet positional metrics and benchmarks.
  13. Handle patient payments and bill processing ethically and accurately.
  14. Follow all department standard operating procedures.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

General Administrative Duties:

  1. Manage inbound customer communications via phone, email, and chat, ensuring timely responses.
  2. Maintain clear communication with clinics regarding insurance requirements.
  3. Assist with other duties and projects as needed.

Who You Are

  • At least 2 years of benefit verification and authorization experience (strongly preferred).
  • At least 3 years of healthcare front desk, billing, or related experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment; fertility clinic experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance benefits and Managed Care policies.
  • A passion for women’s health and fertility is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; team player.
  • Flexible, adaptable, able to multi-task and troubleshoot problems.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
