INTERNSHIPS in the field of GEOINFORMATICS (Heidelberg)

The GIScience Research Group and the Heidelberg Institute for Geoinformation Technology (HeiGIT) at Heidelberg University offer internships (min. 6 months) to support the following highly topical research areas in an interdisciplinary dynamic team, e.g. for:

1. Big Spatial Data Analytics (e.g. OpenStreetMap History Analytics, Social Media Analytics)

The following prerequisites are necessary for this:

1. Fun with the development of software systems used in practice (Open Source)
2. Good knowledge of one of the following programming languages:

• JAVA
• C++
• Python
• R
• JavaScript

Possible topics and tasks:

1. Machine Learning / Data Mining
2. Web development (client or server)
3. Routing/Navigation (ORS)
4. Spatial statistics

In these areas, there are also opportunities to carry out qualification work (Master thesis).
