The Role

Our client is looking for a PR Manager (agency level equivalent) to join their Communications team and help them drive storytelling to reach target audiences in key European markets, with a specific focus on Germany.

In this role, you will support the development of their consumer/lifestyle PR strategy and be responsible for its implementation, as well as develop compelling media stories and relationships with relevant media outlets.

Working under the Head of Communications for Europe, you will collaborate closely with the European and Global Communications teams to stand out in mainstream media and create opportunities to creatively position their brands and initiatives.

The ideal candidate has a passion for storytelling and can distill creative ideas and complex stories into compelling narratives. A robust understanding of the media landscape in Germany is essential.

Responsibilities

1. Drive implementation of European communications strategy with a significant focus on the German market, including consumer and lifestyle media.
2. Proactively develop ideas and opportunities for creative storytelling and support the press office team with media inquiries.
3. Establish and nurture relationships with relevant media outlets and journalists.
4. Collaborate with the wider Marketing/Communications team to identify trends, develop proactive pitches, and prepare reactive statements as needed.
5. Coordinate the organization and updating of press materials, statements, FAQs, etc., and support the development of messaging.
6. Support event planning and execution in Germany.
7. Maintain the communications calendar and proactively identify relevant events and moments for storytelling.
8. Drive reporting and measurement for PR activities, including tracking media opportunities and compiling internal reports to showcase communications work.

Your Professional Profile

• 3-5 years of proven experience in communications and media relations.
• Excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience in creative storytelling, media relations, and developing/implementing integrated communication campaigns.
• Self-starter with a solid understanding of the media landscape and what makes a good story.
• Strong understanding of marketing and communication strategies and channels.
• Experience in consumer and lifestyle-driven campaigns is a plus.
• Prior experience in journalism, PR agency, or in-house communications is a plus.
• Official working language is English; native or professional proficiency in German is required.
