About the role

Become a valued member of DNV’s Power System Planning team in Germany, with opportunities to work from our offices in Dresden or Berlin. You’ll play a key role in national and international projects, collaborating across diverse teams within DNV and with external partners, primarily within the Northern Europe region.

Your tasks and responsibilities include:

1. Perform modeling and analysis of the behavior of electrical grids, and various types of power system studies.
2. Perform detailed analysis and investigations related to specific topics, such as:
1. long- and mid-term network development planning for transmission and distribution grids
2. grid integration of renewable energy sources, storage and electric vehicles, energy efficiency, reliability, and power quality
3. grid integration of power electronics (e.g. HVDC, FACTS, hydrogen electrolyzers, inverters)
4. grid code compliance simulations
5. voltage control, frequency control and grid stability
6. fault clearance, protection, and control
3. Perform site visits, test witnessing and practical validation of studies.
4. Contribute to high-quality technical reports and commercial proposals.

About you

We’re looking for a dynamic and skilled professional with the following qualifications and attributes:

1. University degree in electrical engineering, preferably with specialization in Power Systems Analysis or similar education
2. Knowledge and understanding of core technical areas (Power System Studies, Grid Integration of Renewables and Storage, Testing & Modelling of Generation Units, Grid Code Compliance, Protection and Control)
3. Experience with modeling and simulation of electrical components and networks with tools such as PowerFactory, NEPLAN, Integral, PSCAD, EMTP/ATP, or similar
4. Fluent in German and English both written and verbal, incl. understanding of technical and commercial terms
5. Experience with Python or other programming languages will be an advantage
6. Interest and ability in interacting with customers. Ability to organize project work, deliver, and create a good team spirit.
7. Willing to travel for business.

9. High level of creativity, flexibility and initiative.
