Overview

Postdoctoral Scientist (f/m/x) in Lymphoma Microenviroment Research

AG Hallek / Laboratory of Molecular CLL Pathogenesis

TV-L: 38,5 h/week (100%). Limited for 2 years according to WissZeitVG (third-party funded project). Your salary will be based on TV-L.

Your tasks
  • Scientific oversight of ongoing projects investigating the cellular and molecular architecture of the lymphoid tumor microenvironment in B cell neoplasms
  • Supervision and mentoring of students, junior researchers, and technical staff
  • Grant writing and acquisition of third-party funding in collaboration with the PI
  • Monitoring project budgets and resources, liaising with funding agencies and administrative offices
  • Active engagement in manuscript preparation, peer review, and scientific dissemination
  • Participation in the scientific representation of the group at national and international meetings
Your profile
  • PhD in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or related fields
  • Proven track record of independent research, demonstrated by high-impact publications
  • Strong expertise in molecular biology, immunology, and/or cellular biochemistry, ideally in cancer or immuno-oncology
  • Experience with mouse models and/or bioinformatic analysis of large-scale omics datasets is highly advantageous
  • Prior experience in leading teams or coordinating research activities is advantageous
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in English (written and spoken)

Our research group is dedicated to understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms driving B cell malignancies, with a particular focus on the tumor microenvironment. We integrate a wide range of experimental approaches, from cutting-edge molecular and cellular techniques to in vivo models and multiomics analyses, to explore disease pathogenesis and identify novel therapeutic targets. Our overarching goal is to translate fundamental discoveries into clinically relevant insights, contributing to the development of improved strategies for diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of lymphoid cancers. The applicant will have the opportunity to tackle cutting-edge problems in biomedical field, interact with world class scientists and clinicians within the SFB 1530, the CIO ABCD, the NCT West/Cancer Center Cologne Essen CCCE.
