Amazon is seeking talented Postdoctoral Scientists to join our Robotics team for a one-year, full-time research position. This role involves innovating in key areas of computer vision and manipulation challenges within Amazon warehouses.

The Amazon Robotics team aims to automate picking activities in Amazon AR Sortable FCs by retrofitting existing stations. The team develops robotic manipulators, including hardware and software (such as machine learning approaches). Formed in 2022 and based in Berlin, the team focuses on solving computer vision and manipulation challenges, such as interacting with fabric pods used for storing items. Technical challenges include 3D scene understanding in cluttered environments, item identification, and placement/removal of target items. The open-ended nature of these challenges means we are looking for postdoc candidates eager to apply and advance state-of-the-art algorithms in this domain.

Key Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

• Expertise in modeling, performance evaluation, operationalization, and scalability of scientific techniques, and decision strategy development.
