Postdoctoral Researcher in AI/ML/NLP

Position 39 h per week, initially until 14 October 2027. Further employment dependent on funding.

Your tasks
  • Independent conceptualization and execution of research in analysing and improving scientific practices and data infrastructures in AI research from an epistemic and ethical perspective.
  • Design and implementation of methods for improving AI models and evaluation methods/benchmarks, especially language and multimodal models.
  • Critical analyses of epistemic and ethical limitations of AI systems and research practices within interdisciplinary collaborations.
  • Regular publication and presentation of research results at international conferences and workshops.
  • Participation in third‑party funded projects (e.g., NFDI and EOSC).
  • Drafting research proposals and acquiring research funding.
  • Independent teaching activities and student supervision.
  • Organization of events and activities for the scientific community and the broader public.
Desired qualifications
  • Interest in AI ethics, data ethics, science and technology studies, feminist philosophy of science or related topics.
  • Experience in writing research proposals and successfully acquiring research funding.
  • Experience in planning and conducting teaching and student supervision.
