We are looking to fill the position of
Postdoctoral Researcher (f / m / div) - AFAR (Algorithmic Fairness for Asylum-Seekers and Refugees) project
Part-time (32 hours / week).
The contract shall commence as of 01 September 2024 and is limited to 12 months. The successful candidate will be based at the Hertie School Berlin as a member of the School’s Centre for Fundamental Rights.
The AFAR (Algorithmic Fairness for Asylum-Seekers and Refugees) research project is funded by the Volkswagen Foundation as part of its "Challenges for Europe" programme. The project commenced in October 2021, with research published and in preparation. This role is for the final year of the AFAR project.
This position is designed for an early career legal scholar specializing in human rights and artificial intelligence (AI) to engage with the AFAR project. The scholar will develop individual research outputs and support the project’s research and science communication activities in its final stages.
The postholder will work closely with Principal Investigator Professor Cathryn Costello (UCD) and other AFAR team members. Responsibilities include:
