The Hector Research Institute of Education Sciences and Psychology at the University of Tübingen invites applications for the following positions to be filled as soon as possible:
Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d)
(two positions, 100% TV-L E13, for up to 3 years)
We are seeking highly motivated scholars from the fields of psychology, empirical educational research, data science, cognitive science, or related disciplines who are eager to engage deeply in the Institute’s research activities in empirical education. We especially welcome applications from international researchers who would like to continue a promising research program in a highly stimulating research context that values ideas, innovation, and independent thinking. The Hector Research Institute of Education Sciences and Psychology is an intra-university research institute at the University of Tübingen that investigates individual, social, and institutional determinants of learning and educational processes. We employ a wide range of methodological approaches, from large-scale assessments and longitudinal studies to laboratory experiments and randomized field studies. Our close collaboration with schools and educational institutions enables us to provide evidence-based insights for improving the education landscape. Nationally and internationally, our research institute is one of the leading centers for empirical educational research.
As an interdisciplinary team, we work on current research topics in agile structures, so-called Research Hubs, created to promote the cooperative nature of the institute. Each Hub reflects in its thematic focus the Institute’s current priorities, influenced by scientific, societal, political, and technological developments, with the ultimate goal to address the relevant questions in the field of education. We are particularly looking for outstanding postdoctoral researchers with the potential to lead independent research groups in the future, with a proven exceptional research profile and high-impact international publication record. The successful candidates should have research interests that are closely aligned with key topics of our work and be interested in close research collaborations with colleagues at the institute. Additionally, we expect postdocs to teach one course per semester.
