Our group studies how alterations in the crosstalk between RNA and protein metabolism contribute to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a fatal neurodegenerative disease that remains incurable. We use an innovative approach combining patient-derived stem cells with genetics in C. elegans to understand mechanisms that can prevent age-related diseases like amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
