Qualifikationen

The German Institute of Human Nutrition Potsdam-Rehbruecke (DIfE) is a member of the Leibniz Association. The institute’s mission is to conduct experimental and clinical research in the field of nutrition and health– with the aim of understanding the molecular basis of nutrition-dependent diseases– and of developing new strategies for treatment and prevention (website: https://www.dife.de/en/ ).

The Department of Molecular Metabolism and Precision Nutrition investigates hormonal and molecular mechanisms involved in the nutritional regulation of the human metabolism. Currently, the focus of the department lies on the role of the circadian clock in metabolic regulation by nutrition.

To expand this research line, we are looking for one

Postdoc (m/f/div) in Chrononutrition

starting as soon as possible.

  • Cell culture experiments on the metabolic and nutritional regulation of circadian clocks
  • Characterization of circadian rhythms using bioluminescent reporters
  • Contribution to human studies in the field of chrononutrition and chronometabolic research
  • Analysis and quantification of circadian rhythms by rhythm analysis software (Cosinor, JTC cycle, R, etc.)
  • Rhythm analysis in human 24-hour time series data and omics data
  • Writing presentations and publications
  • Supervision of master and doctoral theses in medicine and natural science
  • Independent application for the third-party funding
Your profile:
  • Master and doctoral degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, nutritional sciences, or another biological / medical field
  • Expertise in chronobiology and circadian rhythms analysis
  • Experience in general molecular and cell biology methods
  • Experience in omics data analysis
  • High motivation and willingness for interdisciplinary collaboration
  • High flexibility, very good communication and organizational skills
  • Fluent English skills; good knowledge of German preferred
