Portfolio Manager

We are looking for an FX Dealer in our Dusseldorf Office, with proven dealing, trading and account management experience. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of clients, taking responsibility for trading account setup, relationship management, and deal execution.

Our Dealers offer expert and bespoke suggestions and ideas to our clients, providing them with strategies to minimise their FX risk challenges. They plan, structure, and execute deals, giving our clients the best value while contributing to Ebury’s growth.

Our best Dealers go on to head up and train dealing teams, making sure the next generation of Dealers are inspired, motivated, and proficient in their roles.

What you’ll do as a Portfolio Manager
  1. Manage a portfolio of corporate clients, executing a range of products including FX hedging, lending, payments, and cash management. Upsell Ebury’s broad product capabilities to ensure a best-in-class client proposition.
  2. Collaborate with the sales team to assist in business origination. Understand clients' environments, strategies, and industries to provide optimal solutions using Ebury's product suite.
  3. Understand the competition's capabilities and gaps to better position Ebury’s solutions.
  4. Achieve dealer-specific KPIs such as revenue targets, reducing client churn, and increasing wallet share through cross-selling.
  5. Build and maintain strong client relationships through meetings, presenting ideas, proposals, and updates confidently and professionally.
  6. Expand existing business and provide feedback to technology and product teams.
  7. Originate new business via networking and referrals.
What you’ll need
  1. Strong experience in Financial Services, particularly in sales or relationship management. An established network is advantageous.
  2. Experience in FX institutions, commercial banks, or selling financial instruments to SMEs and corporates.
  3. Understanding of compliance requirements.
  4. Background in Business or Finance is a plus.
  5. Excellent communication skills to win commitment and buy-in.
  6. Technical skills in statistical/fundamental analysis and risk management.
  7. Proven ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  8. Skilled negotiator, capable of building relationships at senior levels.
  9. Fluency in German and strong business English.
