A leading company is seeking a part-time Shop Attendant for the European Space Agency in Cologne. The role involves managing in-store operations, assisting customers, promoting sales, and ensuring a tidy and organized space. Ideal candidates will possess strong organizational skills, experience in retail, and a passion for the Space domain.
We are looking for a shop attendant on behalf of the European Space Agency (ESA) for their location in Cologne, Germany. The successful candidate will manage the daily in-store operations at the assigned location. Please be aware that this is a part-time position for 5 hours per week.
Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage).
The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:
Maintain knowledge of current products and promotions;
Stay informed about new stock, sales, and discounts;
Operate the cash register and process sales transactions;
Handle credit/debit card payments, and issue receipts;
Ensure accurate pricing and discounts are applied;
Restock shelves with products as they sell out;
Ensure products are organized and displayed neatly;
Perform stock checks and assist in inventory management;
Report low stock or damaged goods to management;
Keep the store clean and tidy, including tidying shelves, floors, and fitting rooms;
Ensure store displays are visually appealing and consistent with the store's layout;
Promote sales, special offers, or loyalty programs to customers;
Monitor the store for theft or suspicious activity;
Follow loss prevention policies and procedures;
Resolve customer complaints or escalate issues to the manager when necessary.

At least 2 years of relevant experience;
Good organizational skills;
An affinity with and enthusiasm for the Space domain;
Interest in learning about space missions in order to guide customers;
Accuracy in managing stock levels and reporting;
IT literate;
Strong interpersonal skills;
Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU;
Fluency in English, both written and spoken;
Good command of German is a strong asset.
