Jobtailor seeks a policy campaigns professional to support and lead legislative campaign efforts. You will work with the Chief Advocacy Officer and Director of Policy Campaigns to execute strategy, build coalitions, and engage communities to advance policy goals.

You will manage campaigns, coordinate events, and mentor interns while traveling as required. Strong communication, empathy, and integrity are essential to our work with directly impacted communities.

Qualifikationen

• At least three years of experience leading legislative campaigns, including setting strategy, building and managing coalitions, drafting campaign materials, leading direct actions, and engaging digital advocacy tactics.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple campaigns and projects concurrently with efficiency and calm.
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships with partners and community members, showing reliability and empathy.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Regular practice of active listening, seeking clarification, and note-taking.
• Direct experience with the prison industry or working with directly impacted communities is preferred.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Aufgaben

• Assist the Chief Advocacy Officer and the Director of Policy Campaigns & Government Affairs in executing the organization’s policy campaign strategy.
• Lead and support policy campaigns, building coalitions, facilitating stakeholder meetings, conducting research, monitoring legislative calendars, developing collateral such as letters, petitions, fact sheets, talking points, advocating with decision makers, planning direct actions, coordinating events, supporting communications, and tracking progress.
• Work closely with organizational partners and community members, implementing base building strategies when appropriate, to advance policy goals through robust and ethical coalition management, which includes elevating the leadership and voices of directly impacted people.
• Track and support the implementation of previous policy wins, sharing best practices with correctional agencies, supporting procurement processes, and collecting data and analyzing results.
• Collaborate with the communications team on campaign-related activities to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and consistency of campaign messaging.
• Manage policy interns, fellows, volunteers, and other staff as assigned.
• Manage administrative needs and tasks for campaigns and related events.
