Job summary

Apple seeks a Silicon Validation intern to join our PMU development team in Germany. You will collaborate with engineers to integrate analogue and mixed-signal power management circuits for battery-powered devices across platforms and new Apple devices.

You will perform mixed-signal IP validation, debug issues, and develop Python scripts to validate ICs, generating comprehensive validation reports and supporting automation.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Understanding of power management topologies (LDO, buck converter, switch).
• Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret schematics.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python preferred; C#, C++ a plus).
• Strong written and verbal communication in international teams.
• Fluent English language.

Responsibilities

• Mixed-signal IP validation on bench and automated test systems.
• Debugging chip- and board-level issues.
• Developing and executing Python scripts to validate ICs across process, voltage, and temperature.
• Generating validation reports and documentation.
• Supporting test engineering by debugging test procedures and improving automation.
• Completing system characterization per compliance specifications.
• Chip validation for various application scenarios.

Description

As a Silicon Validation intern you will collaborate with a team of engineers in various measurement tasks. You will be working on integrating our analogue and mixed signal Power Management circuits for battery-operated portable devices across various platforms and new Apple devices.

Key Responsibilities

• Mixed-signal IP validation on bench and automated test systems
• Debugging chip-level and board-level issues
• Developing and executing Python scripts to validate ICs over process, voltage, and temperature
• Generating validation reports and documentation
• Supporting test engineering by debugging test procedures and improving automation
• Completing system characterization in line with compliance specifications
• Chip validation for application scenarios

Minimum Qualifications

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or industrial experience equivalent.
• Basic understanding of power management topologies (LDO, buck converter, switch)
• Familiarity with lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, source meters, spectrum analyzers etc.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python preferred; C#, C++ a plus)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills working with international teams
• Fluent proficiency in English language is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Hardware development and circuit design knowledge
• Experience with statistical analysis for silicon characterisation
• Knowledge of battery charging systems or thermal management
