OSM Thome is seeking an experienced Plumber to perform maintenance and repair on a vessel’s plumbing, sanitary, environmental, and pool systems. The role requires practical technical skills, safe work practices, and the ability to handle a wide range of repair tasks aboard.

Candidates should have at least 2 years onboard experience, an approved welder certification (DNV/Lloyds or equivalent), STCW Basic Safety Training, and strong communication in English. High school diploma preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Knowledge of plumbing, piping systems, pumps, valves, and sanitary systems.
• STCW Basic Safety Training and Security/Social Responsibility certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to interact with guests and coworkers in a professional manner.

Aufgaben

• Execute work orders for repair and maintenance of plumbing, sanitary, environmental, and pool systems.
• Maintain and repair piping systems, pumps, valves, fittings, and other relevant components.
• Support upkeep of freshwater, greywater, and blackwater systems as required.
• Maintain pool and spa system piping, circulation equipment, and related components.
• Work various shift schedules as needed based on operational requirements.
• Respond promptly to plumbing issues or maintenance needs in guest and crew areas.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors without delay.
• Perform additional maintenance tasks as directed by the Accommodations Maintenance Manager or other supervisory personnel.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times.

Position Summary:

Physical & Language Requirements:

• Ability to speak, read, and write English clearly for communication, safety, and work instructions.
• Ability to interpret technical procedures and provide updates to supervisors and coworkers
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and work with hands for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Adequate vision (near, far, color, peripheral, depth perception) to perform technical tasks safely.
• Must be physically capable of participating in emergency duties and drills, including evacuation and lifeboat operations.
