Zusammenfassung

V.Group (V.Ships) seeks a mechanically adept crew member to assist in lubricating bearings and moving parts of engine and propulsion systems onboard. You will play a hands-on role in supporting the operation and maintenance of vessel machinery.

You will report to the Staff Engineer and on-duty Engineer, participate in safety drills, and adhere to health, safety and pollution prevention procedures in a challenging onboard environment.

Qualifikationen

• Valid STCW 95 certification.
• Valid ASE A-III/5.
• Basic knowledge of mechanics, operation and maintenance of vessel machinery.
• Experience on vessels in an equivalent position.
• Physically and medically fit.
• Moral integrity is required.

Aufgaben

• Assist with lubrication of bearings and moving parts of engine and mechanical equipment onboard.
• Provide general support in operation of propulsion systems and mechanical equipment.
• Adhere to safety regulations and participate in drills; manage PPE and safety devices.
• Work in Engine Control Room and engine spaces under demanding conditions.

Position Summary

• Responsible to assist with the lubrication of bearings and other moving parts of the engine and mechanical equipment onboard. Providing general assistance in the operation of propulsion systems and mechanical equipment.

Reporting Structure

• Reporting to the Staff Engineer and on duty Engineer.

Safety Duties:

• Participates in crew safety drills according to instructions.
• Must always comply with the Company’s safety and pollution prevention regulations and operating procedures.
• Leads by example by taking care of Health and Safety of self and others.
• Ensures that all work equipment, personal protective equipment, chemicals and safety devices are being used correctly.

Education/Experience/Qualifications:

• Valid STCW 95 certification.
• Valid ASE A-III/5.
• Basic knowledge of mechanics, operation and maintenance of vessel machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Experience on vessels in an equivalent positon.
• Physically and medically fit.
• Moral integrity is required.

Language requirements:

Excellent fluent English (verbal, written and technical). English is the working and safety language on board. This also includes the ability to give and receive instructions in verbal and written forms and to effectively and efficiently engage with guests and crew members. Additional languages are considered beneficial.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Required to stand, walk long distances, reaching and sitting. Repetitive motion of bending, going up and down stairs, climbing ladders. Lifting or pushing of up to 50lbs. The position requires overtime work and irregular schedules. Works in the Engine Control Room, Engine spaces with noise, light traffic, distracting environments.
