Westside Gas Producers, LLC is a landfill gas to renewable natural gas (RNG) processing facility utilizing landfill gas at the Waste Management landfill in Three Rivers, MI. The facility has an inlet capacity of 4.5 MMSCFD and uses the Krysol process to purify landfill gas into pipeline quality gas. WSD operations are responsible for GCCS maintenance and expansion.

Job Summary

Location: Three Rivers, MI

This position oversees the operation and maintenance of one or more small to mid-sized facilities or a single RNG facility. Responsibilities include safety leadership, personnel management, and training. The role involves proactive team development to uphold DTE's service values: Safe, Caring, Dependable, and Efficient, along with continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and fostering a positive employee culture.

The employee will operate and maintain a DOT-regulated pipeline and must pass random drug screening as per DOT PHMSA requirements.

Key Accountabilities
  • Operate facilities safely and responsibly, complying with all regulations and company values.
  • Lead daily operations and maintenance with process expertise.
  • Act as primary contact with customers or site hosts regarding daily operations and production scheduling.
  • Develop and manage the annual O&M budget, including production forecasts and expenditure control.
  • Coordinate major maintenance and contractor activities aligning with production needs and customer expectations.
  • Prepare performance reports, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
  • Implement a maintenance program using predictive, preventive, and corrective strategies, documented via CMMS.
  • Provide or arrange for training on safety, technical skills, environmental practices, and employee development.
  • Ensure safety and environmental policies are followed by all employees and contractors; manage schedules and time approval.
  • Collaborate with regional managers to share best practices and support organizational goals.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 5+ years leadership in plant operations or
  • Associate degree or industry certificate with 3+ years leadership or 2+ years military officer experience, or
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 1 year supervisory experience in plant operations.
Other Qualifications
  • Data-driven with understanding of production monitoring and reporting.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot plant equipment, train others.
  • Knowledge of plant equipment, energy efficiency, regulatory requirements, organizational skills, problem-solving, communication, proficiency in MS Office, experience with CMMS, and the ability to manage projects independently.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions

Must meet physical demands such as lifting, climbing, and working in various environments, including plant site and office settings. Exposure to weather, mechanical parts, fumes, noise, and vibration is possible.
